Accessibility Metadata Redaction

A breakthrough template solution for the development and maintenance of structured documents in Microsoft® Word. PerformX® OpenAccess supports accessible publishing, the encapsulation of metadata and secure redaction.

PerformX® OpenAccess

PerformX® OpenAccess is an ideal template model to encapsulate agency documentation standards and to propagate them throughout the organization whilst retaining the flexibility to meet departmental and program specific requirements.

'PerformX® OpenAccess makes it easy to develop and maintain consistent structured documents across the entire organisation.'

The greatest challenge in the development of structured documents is to provide authors with the guidance and tools they need to implement styles, tables, graphics, links etc... in a controlled and consistent way. PerformX® OpenAccess templates guide authors in the development and maintenance of consistent documents by encapsulating structural, content and presentation standards; authors can simply 'fill in the blanks'. PerformX® OpenAccess templates:

  • encapsulate content standards
  • enforce adherence to styles
  • provide table, linking, graphic and checking wizards
  • enable maximum flexibility
  • support automated production of accessible HTML, RTF or PDF
  • encapsulate AGLS metadata standards
  • provide redaction capability

PerformX® OpenAccess templates addresses a range of issues facing agencies in the publishing of accessible redacted documents to meet requirements of open Government:

  • publishing to WCAG 2.0 accessibility criteria
  • implementation of AGLS metadata standards
  • secure redaction

Accessible publishing

The single biggest issue in terms of generating accessible output is always the absence of standards or disciplines around the way documents are structured in Word. Documents structured with PerformX® OpenAccess templates support effective ongoing maintenance and automated accessible publishing.

Documents developed with PerformX® templates meet both Priority 1 and 2 requirements of WCAG 2.0 when passed through HTML Transit or when saved as RTF or PDF.

Metadata implementation

PerformX® OpenAccess provides an easy to use wizard for implementing a comprehensive set of configurable metadata elements, both AGLS and agency specific. Authors simply select allowed values which are then stored as Word properties and can be exposed upon import into the departmental CMS.

Redaction

PerformX® OpenAccess provides tools to highlight and redact content in Word documents. Documents are 'cleansed' of any remnants of original content before publishing.
